The Technology Strategy Board is planning to hold a sandpit on ‘User centred design for energy efficiency in buildings’ in early 2010.
A sandpit is a 5 day intensive immersive workshop where participants from a wide range of backgrounds compete to attend, but once there they work collaboratively to come up with new solutions to the problem. By the end of the 5 days the participants from multidisciplinary backgrounds will have developed research projects which are approved for funding there and then, subject to submission of a full written proposal within two months of the event.
